Internship for State Representative Race

Professor O'Neil:

I am writing with an awesome opportunity for the students in your classes this spring. I have been asked to take the position of Campaign Manager for Tacoma City Councilmember Jake Fey in his bid for State Representative for the 27th District, Position 2, and am looking for motivated interns to help steer our campaign to victory. As a former student of both UPS and UW, Jake knows the importance of higher education in not only the Tacoma-Pierce County area, but Washington State as a whole. If students wish to know more about Jake, they can visit our campaign website here.

My contact information is below. I am asking that those who wish to apply provide a resume and cover letter no later than March 12th to this email address. I will give applicants a call to set up interviews after that time.

We are looking for students who would be interested in:

Field Coordinator - Organizing and executing an effective field campaign, including the recruitment and management of a volunteer base as well as the maintenance of raw data on voter responses. Applicants preferably have the ability to lead volunteer training seminars, navigate the basics of a field database, and use analytic skills in decision-making
.
Social Media and Web Master - The management of a digital marketing campaign involving Facebook and a unique campaign website. This position ideally involves experience in web design and/or marketing.

Deputy Campaign Manager - Filling the role of a personal assistant and campaign coordinator for myself and Jake Fey. This position involves the ability to respond to needs in a timely manner and facilitate communication among the campaign manager, candidate, and fellow interns. It preferably involves experience or skill in management positions of any kind.

Students should know that these positions are perfect for the fulfillment of an internship credit and are wonderful resume builders. I'd really appreciate it if you could forward this out to your students! Also, feel free to send this to anyone in particular that you feel would be successful in an internship/leadership position.

Thank you very much,

Eric
