Internship opportunity with the Pierce County Republican Party

Professor,

My name is Matthew Roberson and for eight months I have been serving as the lead contact for youth and college outreach for the Pierce County Republican Party. So far this has meant organizing College Republican chapters, speaking to youth associations, and encouraging college and youth civic involvement and activism, but one of my chief goals has been the development of an internship program. I believe that such a program would enhance their university educations with field experience by introducing them to party/partisan organizations, campaign methods and techniques, and local, state, and national politics in a "real world environment".

The challenge for the Pierce County GOP's internship program is promoting the opportunity to students since it is our inaugural year. I understand that the end of the term is a busy time for you, but I would be grateful if you could please forward the attached information to students who may be interested.

Primary responsibilities would include administrative and clerical support such as answering phones or scheduling meetings when required, voter contact activities and maintain voter contact databases, the development and implementation of new strategies and programs for voter and community outreach, performance of policy and issue analysises and opposition research as needed by the party, assistance to party staff members in their assignments, assembly of mail projects as needed, preparation of correspondence or press releases, assistance in the planning of events and staff events as needed and coordinate activities, and interaction with local and state officials and party members in meetings and events on behalf of the party, and other special assignments as needed.

All the information is in the attached material. If you have any questions, please contact me at matt.roberson@piercegop.org Thank you.
