Academic Conference Call, Wed Feb 22 @ 9 am: Russia's Upcoming Election

On behalf of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), I invite you and your students to participate in the next Academic Conference Call on Wednesday, February 22, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in WY 326. Stephen Sestanovich, CFR's George F. Kennan senior fellow for Russian and Eurasian studies, will discuss Russia's upcoming election.

In addition to his position at CFR, Ambassador Sestanovich is the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis professor of international diplomacy at Columbia University. From 1997 to 2001, he served as U.S. ambassador-at-large for the former Soviet Union, where he was the State Department's principal officer responsible for policy toward Russia and the other states of the former Soviet Union. Ambassador Sestanovich is the coauthor or editor of several volumes on international affairs and has contributed articles to the National Interest, Foreign Affairs, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, American Interest, New Republic, and other publications.
