We haven't spoken much about our two searches this fall, both of which were an unqualified success. Let's start with one of them. We are excited to be welcoming Professor Robin Jacobson to our department in fall 2009--yes, 2009, unfortunately, since various complications prevent her from joining us earlier. Currently Professor Jacobson is teaching at Bucknell University. The other day Professor Jacobson was interviewed for an article in the Chronicle of Higher Education on immigration and the presidential campaign. Professor Jacobson is the author of the forthcoming book The New Nativism: Proposition 187 and the Debate Over Immigration.
