We wanted to inform you, and vicariously your students and colleagues, of the Arab-American Language Institute in Morocco’s Summer Intensive Arabic program. The application deadline has been extended until May 6, 2012, so there’s still time for students to apply. Here’s a summary:
The National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations and the Arab-American Language Institute in Morocco (AALIM) have partnered to offer a world-class Arabic language and cultural immersion program for 6 weeks each summer.
Students at all levels of Arabic proficiency are encouraged to apply.
The program features 120 hours of in-class instruction by certified, native speakers, top-notch facilities, and a variety of extracurricular workshops, lectures, and day trips. The AALIM center is located in the historic walled medina of Meknes in central Morocco, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Students have the option to stay with Moroccan families or a family-run guest house, located in a renovated riad in the old city.
