We've just heard in the department that our resident political theorist and specialist on Southeast Asia has been offered a position at Oxford University. Professor Bonura had tendered his resignation this fall so that he could search for a position in the UK to be close to his partner, and only this morning did he return from an interview from Oxford. Professor Bonura will be a member of the Centre for Political Ideologies (CPI) working on a comparative study of political thought.
Wow. We've been melancholy this year about his impending departure but overjoyed by his success. But no surprise, really--UPS: The Oxford of the South Puget Sound.
Congratulations, Professor Bonura!
