Special Events Intern
Etta Projects is a dynamic grassroots-based organization empowering Bolivian communities through education, empowerment and community organizing. Our mission is to partner with Bolivian communities to implement sustainable solutions to the challenges of poverty. Solutions often focus on, but are never limited to, the areas of water, sanitation, hygiene, nutrition, education and income generation. Our domestic education program brings our experiences in Bolivia back to the United States by educating and inspiring North Americans to act for positive change.

Etta Projects is currently seeking a bright, motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working Special Events Intern to support Etta’s 11th Annual Auction, a fun-filled evening that includes Andean music, dinner dancing and a silent & live auction. This role will be multi-faceted, handling many fundraising and event planning responsibilities as well as tasks involving administrative support of the auction. The Special Events Intern will collaborate with the auction committee, and carry-out the strategy to ensure a successful, profitable auction. This internship provides a unique opportunity to receive practical, hands-on experience in cultivation event planning, donor database management, and donation solicitation. Candidates must have great communication, computer and writing skills, be highly organized and personable.
Internship Responsibilities:
• Assist in distribution of press releases, email blasts, Facebook posts
• Maintain auction database by tracking donations, donor and guest information
• Solicit silent auction and live auction donation from local businesses via letters, phone calls and personal asks
• Research corporate sponsorship opportunities
• Attend auction committee meetings

TRANSLATOR INTERN

Etta Projects is currently seeking a Spanish/English Translator to assist all Etta Projects’ staff to translate written material from English to Spanish and Spanish to English; including web, programming, curriculum, project reports, and newsletters. The Translator Intern must ensure that translated version conveys the original meaning of document as clearly as possible. You do not need prior translation experience to do this, but applicants will be asked to translate a test article.
This position has a flexible schedule and location. Ideal commitment is 5 hours a week for 3-6 months; however, we will also consider applicants to translate single reports or articles. Interns may work most hours outside the office, but must be responsive and meet regularly with staff.
This position is unpaid. Please check if your school provides either funding or credits for internship work as we are willing to assist you with this paper work.
