In today's News Tribune, an article about the Hèrè jè Center, which helps girls in Mali "break the cycle of begging, create a business and become self-sufficient. This program combines lifeline services with micro savings and credit to help the poorest of the poor street children go from begging to business in 18 months." Linda Danforth of Congressman Adam Smith's office here in town is involved in this project, the upshot of which is that their products are available not only online but also at the Tacoma Sheraton.
