Professor Michael Honey of the University of Washington, Tacoma will be
hosting a showing of his film, "Love and Solidarity:
Rev. James Lawson and Nonviolence in the Search for Labor Rights."
Reverend Lawson, a leader in building the nonviolent practice at the
center of the civil rights movement, continues his life as an activist
today, continuing to build nonviolent approaches
to social justice issues of the present. A remarkable figure, Reverend
Lawson's story, in particular his work in the arena of labor rights, is
the subject of Mike's film. We are fortunate that Professor Honey--
himself an activist as well as a highly respected
scholar who has received countless awards, including a Guggenheim
Fellowship and the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award for his Going Down
Jericho Road--will join us for a discussion following the film.
