Jonestown Survivor: An Insider’s Perspective
Laura Johnston Kohl is a writer, a bilingual teacher, on the
Speakers’ Bureau of The Jonestown Institute, a bilingual international speaker,
a Quaker, and a Board Member of the Communal Studies Association. When 914 members of Peoples Temple and four
visiting Americans died in Guyana, South America on November 18, 1978, Laura
survived. She was one of 87 who lived through the trauma. In 2010 Laura
published her book Jonestown Survivor: An
Insider’s Look. Laura contributes to the annual Jonestown Report published
by the Jonestown Institute and is helping set up a survivors’ visit to
Jonestown with a documentary crew.
