Congressman Heck Currently Seeking
Applicants for Congressional Internship Positions:
Candidates should have an interest in the legislative
process and civic service, possess excellent writing and communication skills,
and work well as part of a team.
About the Internship:
An
internship in my office provides a great opportunity for students to learn
first-hand how our government works. Interns learn about the legislative
process, as well as the operations of a Congressional office.
Internship
opportunities are offered throughout the fall, winter, spring and summer.
Although all internships are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. Additionally,
my office is happy to assist interns who qualify for academic credit. The hours
are flexible to accommodate personal schedules.
Interns
may perform a variety of duties including: general office work such as
answering phones, greeting constituents and visitors and writing letters. Interns
may also be assigned to assist constituents on personal matters involving
federal agencies (case work) or to work on District-based projects.
