Intersections: A New Housing Option Focusing on Social Justice for Juniors and Seniors.
Intersections is one of five new residential programs being
offered for juniors and seniors who want to live in the new residence
hall scheduled to open for Fall 2013.
Intersections is focused on exploring connections and tensions
between social justice issues and students’ academic, social, and/or
personal engagement with issues of spirituality, religious pluralism,
and emerging spiritualties. Our specific foci
for 2013-2014 will be related to (but not limited to) issues of
immigration, incarceration, and food. Students admitted into
Intersections will be able to live in a community that encourages and supports exploring these themes as both scholars and activists. Intersections
is directed by Dave Wright ’96, Director of Spirituality, Service,
& Social Justice at the
University of Puget Sound, in partnership with faculty colleagues Robin
Jacobson (Politics and Government) and Stuart Smithers (Religion) – and
other faculty and staff who will participate in this program in a
variety of ways! For more information please see
