Puget Sound new student-run journal: The Commons Volume 1, Issue 1, 2020 & Call for Papers

My name is Julia Gabriele, and I’m emailing you on behalf of UPS’s new student-run journal, The Commons. Last semester, we produced our inaugural issue, which is out now!

The Commons is a student-run, peer-reviewed academic publication through the Politics and Government department on campus. Though we are primarily focused on political writing and writing about politics, we are interested in writing from any discipline.

For our next edition, which will be published in the winter of this year, we’re hoping to attract a more diverse range of viewpoints and topics outside of just the Politics and Government department. During such a politically involved time, it’s more important than ever to engage the student electorate. If any students in your department are involved in PG projects with a political angle, we’d love to be able to represent their work in an academic setting.

I’ve attached the virtual flyer for our current edition, and the flyer for this next edition’s call for papers. If any students in the Politics and Government department would be interested in our publication, we’d love if you could pass this along to them!
