My name is Nelson Falkenburg and I am the Legislative Coordinator for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. We are recruiting for a current or recent graduate to work for our Legislative Affairs team during the 2019 legislative session. The Legislative Affairs Intern will support WDFW staff and the agency's mission by managing inquiries from legislators, tracking bills through the legislative process, developing communication tools for the Legislative Affairs team, and coordinating meetings.

Internship Opportunity: Campaign Intern

ABOUT
THE POSITION
Interns
will be on the front lines of working with volunteers and voters in support of
the Dr. Kim Schrier’s campaign for Congress. Interns will learn the ins and
outs of supporting a nationally watched congressional race. Interns will take
part in traditional methods of voter contact such as phone calls, door
knocking. They will gain valuable experience in volunteer management, training
and recruitment, as well as learning basics of campaign management software.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage databases of registered voters and campaign volunteers.
- Engage in regular field trainings for first-time campaign volunteers.
- Support the general campaign effort by participating directly in the execution of our voter contact strategy, which may include door-to-door communication, phone calls, voter registration, tabling, and visibility.
- Support the field program, including data management, volunteer recruitment and retention, and administrative duties.

U.S. House of Representatives District Scheduler/Office Manager Opening
Congressman Adam Smith seeks a District Scheduler/Office Manager to plan the Member’s daily and long-term schedule in the District. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing invitations and scheduling requests, providing travel and logistical support, preparing events and meetings, acting as a liaison to constituents, running the Congressional internship program and conducting various administrative duties. Exact portfolio to be determined by the needs of the Congressional District and staff expertise.
Candidates should demonstrate a professional manner; the ability to multitask and stay organized; excellent oral and written communication skills; thoroughness and careful attention to detail; the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment; the ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others in a fast-paced office; and a strong commitment to public service. Ties to and knowledge of the Ninth Congressional District are desired. A valid Washington State Driver’s License is required.
Salary range is $38,000+, dependent on qualifications and experience, with Federal employee benefits including the student loan repayment program.
