The acclaimed documentary "Since I Been Down" portrays how mass incarceration, racism, and redlining impacted the Hilltop neighborhood in Tacoma. It follows the lives of several young people who grew up there and went to prison for long sentences.

The documentary is available for pre-screening!

In a radical departure from conventional wisdom on the topic, University of Chicago Professor Darryl Li argues that transnational jihadists are engaged in their own form of universalism: these fighters struggle to realize an Islamist vision directed at all of humanity, transcending racial and cultural difference.

POHLAD AWARD
DEADLINE: APRIL 8, 2022

Purpose:

The Christopher R. Pohlad Fund for Faculty and Student Research was established to provide students the opportunity to travel abroad, further develop relationships with faculty members, and contribute in a meaningful way to their study of politics and government. 

Eligibility:

  • Rising junior or seniors
  • Declared major or minor in the Politics & Government department
  • Interested in international travel

Award & Requirements:

The award will provide $3000 for international travel to one or more countries, pursuing an activity, or participating in a program related to the study of politics or government.
