CALLING ALL UNDERGRADUATE AUTHORS INTERESTED IN PUBLISHING THEIR ACADEMIC WORK!
DEADLINE: MARCH 5, 2022
We are The Commons, a peer-reviewed undergraduate journal interested in spotlighting young scholarship in political science or politics-adjacent academic fields. We are excited to announce that we are accepting submissions for our upcoming issue! As an interdisciplinary journal, we publish academic work of any discipline that touches on political topics. Our aim as a journal is to amplify the voices of student scholars by providing a “second destination” for their research papers. We encourage undergraduate students to submit any argumentative research papers, analytical research papers, and empirical research papers. Join the P&G department this Friday for a spirited discussion of the U.S. geopolitical landscape. Professor Bill Haltom will employ various cultural and statistical references in an attempt to engage the audience with American thought.
Please join us for the Politics and Government annual lecture. Each fall we bring a speaker to campus to help us consider a key question about democracy. This year we are delighted to welcome Mary Fan, author of Camera Power (Cambridge University Press 2019), to help us think about transformations in policing, privacy, and surveillance.
Being back on campus this semester has been wonderful. Yet, we are still in the process of reconnecting to our many communities. So join your PG faculty and fellow students in the Trimble Forum for fellowship and to celebrate having almost completed our first semester back with good conversation and desserts.
