Congrats to Nathan Little '13, California State Assembly Fellow

Hello Prof. O'Neil,

I recently was selected as a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellow with the California State Assembly for 2014-2014. I'll be heading to Sacramento come October to work directly with an Assemblymember for 12 months.

As part of the program I'll also be taking classes at Sacramento state for which I earn graduate credit for a Master's in Public Administration or in Public Policy.

I'm honored to be selected; the Capital Fellows Programs are rigorous and come with a lot of opportunity. I'm including the Fellows Programs website, and would be happy to help any undergraduates interested in applying for this program, especially since so many Loggers are California natives (not a requirement, but familiarity always helps).

 Nathan Little, Class of 2013

Intern in Tacoma with Congressman Derek Kilmer

People for Derek Kilmer, Congressman Kilmer's reelection campaign is seeking candidates for finance and field internships.

The finance intern responsibilities may include:
- Conducting donor research
- Supporting and staffing events
- Processing contributions and expenses
- Data entry and database maintenance
- Other duties as needed.

The field intern responsibilities may include:
- Volunteer recruitment
- Data entry
- Event preparation and management
- Staffing and supporting events
- Canvassing
- Other duties as needed
- Phone-banking

A minimum of two days and 15 hours per week is expected. Most work is in the evenings and on the weekends, though schedules are flexible based on the needs of the campaign and the intern. Interns with greater flexibility in their schedule will be given more diverse responsibilities. Interns do not necessarily have to be studying politics, and students in different courses of study are encouraged to apply.

Intern positions are unpaid, however we will work with interns and their school to earn academic credit.

Please email a cover letter explaining why you are interested in this internship, a one page resume and a list of three references to chanel@derekkilmer.com.
